Since the 1970's Stephen Nachmanovitch has been a pioneer of concert improvisation on violin, viola, and electric violin, and related instruments.

In addition to live performances, he has served as an improvisation guide, teaching master classes and workshops in music departments, conservatories, chamber music conferences, etc.
